1. Who We Are
ConsTradeHire ("we", "our", "us") is a Canadian construction job platform operated in Ontario, Canada. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: Name, email address, password (hashed — never stored in plain text)
- Profile information: Work experience, education, skills, certifications, location, phone number
- Resume data: Content extracted from uploaded resume files
- Application data: Jobs applied for, cover letters, application status
- Usage data: Pages visited, search queries, device type (no third-party tracking)
3. How We Use Your Information
- To match you with relevant construction job opportunities
- To show employers your profile (only if you enable visibility)
- To calculate ATS match scores between your resume and job listings
- To send you notifications about your applications
- To improve our platform and job matching algorithms
4. Your Control (PIPEDA Rights)
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Access all personal information we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate information at any time via your profile
- Hide your profile from employers using the visibility toggle in your dashboard
- Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
- Withdraw consent to data processing at any time
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:
- With employers — only when you apply to their jobs or enable profile visibility
- With Supabase (database host) — data stored in Canada/US under data processing agreements
- With Adzuna — only your search queries to fetch job listings (no personal data sent)
6. Data Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We use JWT tokens for authentication with automatic expiry. Database access is restricted and monitored.
7. Cookies
We use only essential session data stored in localStorage (authentication token). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
